My Outback (2019) touch screen was experiencing phantom touches. It got to the point where the "touches" were so frequent that the screen was behaving as if a toddler was rapidly touching as many buttons as possible. I eventually stopped listening to music and left the screen permanently turned off.

I delayed getting it repaired b/c my quick searches said that it would cost $2k+ to get the unit replaced through Subaru. I was fortunate to find OE AutoTronics.

They were very easy to work with, gave very clear instructions on how to remove the screen and reinstall, and were extremely transparent during the entire process.

When all was said and done my screen works great and my total cost was ~$350 when you include the repair, unit removal tools, and shipping.

Only minor downside is that there is a slight milkiness to the screen that wasn't there before. It's minor and I can only see if it specific lighting. It's a small tradeoff for the ~$1700 cost savings. Full transparency; I didn't ask OE to correct the milkiness b/c it doesn't bother me.

Don’t be discouraged. You can do it. TIP: I had to restart the computer (disconnect negative terminal on battery on 15+mins) for the infotainment system to recognize the new screen.
